Goderich is also one of the most densely populated towns in Ontario with 956 residents per square kilometre, even exceeding population densities of nearby cities like London and Sarnia. The capital of trade and culture in Huron County, it is one of the main shipping ports for domestic and international cargo shipments in Ontario.
The town of Goderich is also famous for the Sifto Salt Mine. Founded in 1866, it’s the largest salt mine in Canada with an annual production of 9 million tons.
